What’s Ghosting?

  • In a sales context, "ghosting" refers to a situation where a potential client or lead suddenly stops all communication without explanation. 
  • After expressing interest or even moving forward in the sales process, they might go silent - no emails, no calls, no responses… no deposit or signed contract.

It’s frustrating because you’ve invested a significant time and effort into building relationships and crafting proposals for a client. 

For most of us, ghosting makes us feel like there’s something wrong with us, or our offers.

I have some good news and bad news:

The good news is: in most cases, “ghosting” is NOT about you… on the surface, any of these may be the cause:
  1. Change in priorities
  2. Decision paralysis
  3. Found another solution
  4. Avoiding confrontation. Some people find it challenging to deliver negative feedback or say "no," so they opt for silence instead.

**The real reason ghosting happens is because somebody feels like they have to “LIE” to you. **

The bad news is: “Ghosting” is a symptom - there are key pieces missing from your current relationship building system.
